If there’s one place a jet-setter knows well, it’s likely to be Kensington. It’s the place to be seen, full to the brim with upmarket shops, trendy bars and restaurants. A new resident, Naga, is going to be no exception. A rising star of Pan Asian cuisine, Naga is already a hit with celebrities and politicians and has even won Best Chinese Restaurant in London, despite only previewing for a short time.
Described as ‘combining chic and contemporary decor with a warm and welcoming atmosphere’, Naga definitely looks set to be the hot hangout of 2013. The decor is a show-stopper; there is a a glass roof for gazing up at the stars after a delicious dinner and cocktail - or two, or three - complemented by plush velour furnishings and bright and beautiful oriental prints. It’s small touches like these which make the Naga experience highly satisfying for all restaurant-goers.
There's certainly been a lot of hard work from a real dream team - Eddy Lim and Tri Van Dang. Take Eddy’s thirty plus years experience in restaurants and Tri Van Dang’s infamous cocktails from all your favourite hotspots (including Mahiki and Brompton Club), and you’ve got a trendy fusion formula for success. Add in a mouth watering menu from an Indonesian native, Executive Chef Fachri Syarief - winner of Best Pan Asian Chef 2011 - and it’s now understandable why Naga is about to be the worst kept secret in London and beyond.
So grab as many friends as you can and head down there before you’re fighting your fellow jet setters for a table, sink into a sofa with a Chinese Mojito - Mojitos are my drink of choice wherever I go, so this is a no brainer - and peruse a menu of utter delights, including Silken Tofu and Vietnamese Mild Beef Curry. There is something for any lover of Oriental cuisine with a twist.
See you there and keep on jet-setting!
